THE AI / HOW WE’RE BUILDING AIBRAD
What goes into
the other Brad?
aiBrad is an AI counterpart of Brad Harvey, built to host a conversation with the human Brad. We’re bringing together context, personality, reasoning, voice and an on-screen avatar. Here’s the architecture we’re working toward and the choices behind it.
AIBRAD / DISCLOSED AI COUNTERPART01 / THE BUILD
The context engine
Project Human is being built to manage identity, context, memory and permissions around the AI. For the show, the intended job is to bring the conversation, the episode’s prepared material and the relevant instructions together so aiBrad can respond to what’s actually happening.
That doesn’t mean opening up Brad’s private life as show material. The host needs appropriate context for this conversation, with clear boundaries around what it can use and do.
02 / THE BUILD
The Brad Harvey personality
We use a maintained Brad identity and writing-style profile to guide how aiBrad communicates: warmth, curiosity, connected thought, direct judgment and humor when the moment earns it. The show adds instructions for hosting and discussing the episode.
That profile guides the AI’s delivery. It doesn’t make aiBrad the human Brad, and it doesn’t make everything aiBrad says Brad’s opinion. aiBrad’s contributions stay identified as AI.
03 / THE BUILD
Reasoning and conversation
The reasoning layer works with the conversation and the selected episode context to produce a response. We want aiBrad to follow a useful question, explain a position, consider an objection and acknowledge uncertainty.
In aiBrad Has a Take, the plan is for aiBrad to choose a position and explain its reasons. Human Brad hears it fresh, then they discuss it. Agreement and disagreement both have a place; the conversation doesn’t need a manufactured argument.
04 / THE BUILD
The voice
The selected voice is Brad Pro 4 B through ElevenLabs. It is intended to sound like Brad in ordinary conversation, with natural phrasing and a calm, familiar delivery.
The selected preset and a working live voice connection are separate things. We’re still verifying the complete voice setup and how it behaves throughout a conversation.
05 / THE BUILD
The on-screen avatar
SoulX FlashHead Pro is the selected avatar renderer for Brad Decisions. Its role is the visual performance: turning the spoken response into the on-screen aiBrad.
The renderer is one part of the system. Project Human remains responsible for the intended identity, context, permissions and host behavior. We’re still testing the live avatar, its timing and the continuity between speaking and listening.
06 / THE BUILD
The human production layer
OBS brings the human camera, aiBrad output, audio and show graphics together for recording. A human operator manages production, and Human Brad retains editorial responsibility for what the show releases.
The intended route is human microphone → speech and turn handling → Project Human context and reasoning → voice → avatar → OBS. The full live conversation is still being built and tested before the first episode. We’ll add examples from actual released shows as they become available.
Follow the show
The experiment is part of the show. We want people to be able to see how it works, ask useful questions and judge the actual result as we get the conversations out into the world.
